TRAVEL INFORMATION

Beach 7_websize.jpg

Travel to and from Panama City to Colon Island:

Note: If you flew into Panama City you likely flew into Tocumen International Airport so you will need to travel from Tocumen to the smaller, local airport, Albrook Marcos A. Gelabert Airport, which we mention below.

By plane: https://www.airpanama.com/en

  • Take a 1-hour flight on Air Panama out of the local airport - Albrook Marcos A. Gelabert Airport (airport code: PAC) to Bocas del Toro International Airport (airport code: BOC).

    • There are three or four flights a day depending on the time of year.

    • Best NOT to show up at the airport more than 2 hours before check-in time unless otherwise arranged.

    • You are allowed 1 carry-on (they sometimes ask that it’s 4 kg (8.8 lbs) or less) - a small, not super stuffed backpack and 1 personal item that will fit under the seat in front of you.

    • Checked luggage can be purchased with your ticket or for $35 per 23 kg (50 lbs) bag when you check-in.

    • Ask for a window seat! If it’s a clear day the view is lovely for 10 - 15 minutes during takeoff and landing.

    • Many times the Air Panama site shows there are only one or a few seats left or maybe even sold out, however, we’ve only been on one flight that’s been full so call or contact Air Panama
