Kriya Yoga: Action & Transformation
June 7th 10a-5pm Confluence Arts Center
with Laura Ahrens-James and Allegra Chabay
The Yoga of Action and Transformation:
The practice of kriya yoga is composed of three yoga philosophical tenets that are powerful agents of change and transformation. Kriya yoga is put forth in one of the earliest yogic texts as a method to remove even the biggest obstacles. This workshop will explore how it can be applied both on and off the mat so you can make things happen, move through any roadblocks, and keep taking action toward what’s most important to you.
Laura S. Ahrens James has over fifteen years of continuous teaching experience, and holds an 800 hour IAYT Yoga Therapy certification as well as 500 hour and two 200 hour certifications. She owned and operated The New School of Yogic Arts which featured a philosophy-forward 200 hour YTT. She's a third-year PhD candidate in Religion on the Hinduism track at the University of Florida.
Allegra Chabay, MFA, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT, with over 1000 hours of training, 4 years of private practice in yoga therapy, 22 years of yoga instruction and 31 years of personal yoga study.
