-
If you bring a computer or electronics, it’s best to store them in a sealed bag (zip locks work well if you don’t have a case for your items). Corrosion happens fast in our climate. When your items are not in use, we strongly recommend you store them in these sealed bags/cases.
-
Patience and an open heart
What NOT to bring:
Any outside food will attract insects and other animals into your room. High-power consumption items like speakers, hair dryers, etc. Any plastic bottles or packaging, unless you plan to take them when you leave. BIB has Jade yoga mats (blocks, straps, and bolsters), so no need to bring yours along, unless you wish to!
Bugs ‘n things - recommendations from a human that bugs love:
-
Over the counter allergy pills - take one each morning
-
Blue light insect bite and sting relief - this one has worked well for me (Vibis Rechargeable, Chemical-Free, Fast Symptom Relief from Itching and Swelling - https://a.co/d/0q5fiex )
Ttriamcinolone 0.1 % cream - request a prescription from your doctor
-
Bug creams/sprays - lots of info out there on ones that will suit your preferences. I use deet when I’m going to take a walk/hike in the jungle. Here are a couple of deet free alternatives for everyday use:
-
EarthKind Stay Away
-
Sally Ander - No-Bite-Me
-
-
Benadryl
-
Personal fan - usb rechargeable. This keeps the air moving around you, helping keep the bugs away.
Customs Declaration form: We did not need to fill one out the last time we traveled to Panama, but it seems to change from time to time, so don’t be surprised if you need to fill one out.
